“All of us are inherently just as worthy, deserving and capable of creating a life we are willing to fully commit to”.
I was reading this just now in Hal Elrod’s book The Miracle Morning and had a bit of an epiphany. I mean, it’s a way of thinking, a mindset. For instance, when it comes to imposter syndrome, it’s essentially a feeling that we don’t belong in a room full of …. people we consider successful.
But we’re thinking about it all wrong. I mean, what if you don’t need to be successful to be in that room? Or to feel like you belong. You just have to be fully committed to becoming that person. And taking small steps, daily, to move yourself in that direction.
In fact, it’s the right room to be in, if you want to learn from ….. people you consider successful. I’ve heard it said that if you are the most interesting (or successful…?) person in the room, you are in the wrong room. Well, how are you going to learn and grow and become in a room full of people who have nothing to teach you? (OK, that would be hard, because when we’re open to it, we can always learn something from other people, but you get my gist.)
So, it’s not already being successful that means you belong in that room, it’s your commitment to becoming that matters. If you are in a room with people who are more successful than you, you are in the right room!!
